In 2009, my husband and I began working with David Bush as our health coach, then Business Coach and (as we grew our Health Coaching Business)...finally as our Business Leader,

When my husband handed over our Optavia business to me so he could go back to focus on being a Pastor, it was growing incredibly fast. (we both had lost over 100 lbs on program and being in the public eye news of our success spread pretty quickly!)

David Bush saw my potential and began working with and ON me to develop me into a Business Leader. In true Bush-fashion (which I now am GRATEFUL for!)...he began to drill business strategy, structure, knowledge and skills into me.

It was incredibly challenging and equally frustrating! 

Business strategy was NOT my strength at all. And I was already stretched thin...
I was a wife, mother of 4 teeanagers, trying to help my husband start a church while working full time cleaning houses to pay the bills for our family! 

But THANK GOD David continued to educate me, inspire me, push me, and challenge me! 

Not knowing how else to do it...I began to hustle, grind, chase, fight, wrestle and drive for success at Optavia.

Though our success began to skyrocket, the stress was too much.

Fatigue and burnout got pretty severe and I began to slip back...lose ground...the harder I tried to hold onto my rank and income, the less and less success I was experiencing. Why? What was the problem?

None of the training at OPTAVIA had prepared me 

to manage the stress, anxiety, and frustration of running a large organization 

without burning out, alienating my friends and family and losing it all due to my lack of business skills and self-leadership skills.

He was PUSHING me toward success. 

(I began affectionately...or NOT so affectionately...referring to him as David Push!) 

He wasn’t doing anything wrong...I just had not yet developed the mindsets and skills sets I needed to LEAD MYSELF. 

And that’s when I realized there was a HUGE problem!

I looked and looked INSIDE OPTAVIA for the training, tools, resources and skills I desperately lacked...but FOUND NOTHING THERE. 

I had to go outside of Optavia to find the emotional tools I needed to survive and thrive.

So I went back to school to become the leader I needed to be!

I PURSUED with a PASSION personal growth and development to create the other side of the success seesaw. 

Because…

Knowing all the business strategy in the world doesn’t do you much good in the long run if you ignore your personal development. You can BUILD but unless you BECOME it won’t last.

In fact, it can destroy your personal life, your emotions, and even your relationships...ultimately it ended up playing a huge role in the ending of my marriage. And I’ve heard from many other OPTAVIA Leaders the same story.

I enrolled in certification courses, trainings, and workshops galore. 

Some were strictly business development. But many focused first on the emotional success of business building and self-development, including…

• BNI Membership Training. I gained a solid philosophy for business growth, gained tools necessary for business acceleration, leveraging power teams, proven business marketing tactics and strategic alliance development.

• Dale Carnegie Program. I discovered the techniques of interpersonal and organizational communication, public speaking skills, conflict resolution, the intentional cre3ation of influential conversations, and concise and dialogue that leads to income producing results.

• Referral Institute. The equivalent of two Masters Degrees in certified networking with emphasis on relational marketing. We dove deep into motivating referral sources, creating and leveraging emotionally charged connections, and discovering true inner motivation to drive success both personally and professionally.

• Lead Like Jesus Training. These deep personal development workshops challenged “conventional” leadership models. I learned the practical skills for uncovering the pride and fear that stops progress. It’s coaching by following the Way of the Carpenter.  Developed a true Servant-Heart and leadership style that I’ve passed on to hundreds through coaching, training and mentoring.

• Social Media Entrepreneurs Training Course. Discovering the 3 pillars of Facebook Group development and how to formulate clear communication that is both constant and consistent became a HUGE part of converting members into paying clients. Adding valuable content, growing the group and monetizing through member conversion became second nature as I developed and honed my skills as a Social Media Entrepreneur.

• Pajama Bosses Duplication Training. I discovered PROVEN DUPLICATION STRATEGIES and TOOLS that included: how to reverse engineer conversations that result in increased revenue, the art of profitable conversation design and implementation, and the DUPLICATION SECRETS that no one else had shared with me!

• Helen Erwin and Bayleon Team Transformational Leadership Training. We focused on personal leadership, interpersonal communication, trust building, organizational leadership, and the habits of transformational leadership.

Combining all of this knowledge, strategy, skill and leadership tactics into my NEW PHILOSOPHY and APPROACH to Business and LIfe...I found myself in a WHOLE NEW LEVEL! Seeing Business and LIfe from a whole NEW PERSPECTIVE!

The most notable discovery...MY WHY! 

By the way...I need to let you in on something...

Optavia has been asking the WRONG questions!

With this new double-edged sword of knowledge, I discovered that REAL, lasting, long-term success comes from both “building” your business the right way and “becoming” the right type of person along the way to handle success. 

HOW DID I LEARN THAT? The hard way unfortunately.

Everything came to a crashing halt for me during the notorious Covid Quarantine of 2020. 

(A.K.A. the GREAT Marriage Magnifying Glass)

My marriage and Business Partnership became collateral damage of the Pandemic. 

Not only did my Marriage break up...so did my Business Partnership at OPTAVIA.

He ended up with the Business and I ended up having to start from scratch. 

Sort of…

Beginning my own health coaching business under the Bush Organization was pretty impossible...but I LOVE OPTAVIA and the mission...so how could I support the company and further the mission AND use my Business Knowledge and Skill Sets to help other coaches grow?

 I began working with some of the UP & COMING LEADERS 

to train and develop their current Teams so they could focus 

on adding more SR coaches to their frontline. 

What we created was a BEAUTIFUL PARTNERSHIP 

where we could team up to strengthen depth while increasing width!

I began working one-on-one with their Top Leaders to take them from ED to FIBC and beyond! We began to develop SUCCESSFUL TEAMS OF FIBCs and ACCELERATE their own success through the success of their teams.

VERY QUICKLY MY SCHEDULE MAXED OUT and I had to find a way to duplicate myself so I could reach more and more future leaders at OPTAVIA!

So...fast forward after months of hard work, creating a team of partners to help me streamline and launch my trainings on a BIGGER SCALE….
